Associate - CMBS Securitization

Our client is a leading European headquartered global investment bank.  They harnesses advisory expertise in debt financing and arranging corporate and specialized finance transactions embracing comprehensive origination, arranging, and structuring and placement capability. They have built up top-tier market insight underpinned by more than 20 years’ experience in Western Europe and over 10 years’ in the US.

They are widely recognized as a major industry player thanks to their comprehensive array of financing services involving the entire spectrum of asset types.  Within Real Estate, they provide clients with a broad range of funding tools such as CMBS, bridge loans and B-notes. 


Our client seeks to add an Associate to their securitization team.  In this role, you would join a small but highly-talented team of individuals in managing the securitization of commerical real estate loans.  

Responsibilities:

  • Create/verify master data tape, Annex A, Master/Special Servicer data
  • Engage rating ratings, legal, accountants, servicers, and other third parties
  • Create term sheets/large loan summaries for prospectus, offering memorandums and road-shows           
  • Tie-out with accountants/attorneys of asset summaries, UW files, term sheets/large loan summaries and data tapes
  • Review and update asset summary reports and term sheets/large loan summaries with funding information once loans close
  • Manage Q&A process with rating agencies and b-piece buyers
  • Re-underwriting for seasoned loan pool assets
  • Rating Agency hair-cut call support and pre-sale report review
  • Document management/missing document exception clearing
  • Appraisal management/reviews 
  • Lease abstraction/reviews
  • Participate in internal credit meetings
  • Research requests and other ad hoc special projects

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree from a recognized institution

  • 3-5 yrs. experience in CMBS Securitization or a similar role

  • Solid understanding of real estate concepts, terminology and source documents

  • Excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment

  • Exposure to Rockport is desirable but not required
