Associate / VP - Large Loan Originations

Our client is a large institutional lender, based in New York City.  The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team is looking for an Analyst level candidate to help support the Large Loan Origination effort.

The group provides products and services such as construction loans, secured and unsecured lines of credit, and interim financing arrangements for completed structures, rehabilitation and affordable housing loans, and permanent loans for securitization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for supporting senior origination team members in ongoing deal sourcing, deal management, and documentation

  • You will be responsible for preparing complex financial analyses and pricing models

  • You will write internal investment summaries and credit memos, and produce institutional-quality presentations, case studies and marketing materials

  • Coordinate transactions within tight timeframes, involving several internal and external groups

  • You will be responsible for Commercial Real estate underwriting, market analysis and valuation

The candidate will have:

  • Highly developed organizational and project/time-management skills, with specific attention to detail

  • Strong quantitative, analytical and underwriting skills with strong proficiency in Argus, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Prior excel financial modelling experience is necessary.

  • Prior real estate underwriting and valuation experience is necessary.

  • Clear and cogent business writing skills

  • Determination and commitment to task completion

  • Excellent communication skills under pressure

  • Corporate finance, commercial real estate credit, rating agency or private equity experience

  • A strong commitment to integrity, professionalism and teamwork

  • 3-7 years experience in similar role
